Woven with love and imagination by Prem Devi, “Lalima” (Blush of Dusk) reflects the beauty of her surroundings and life experiences. T the rug shimmers with the softness and shine of pure silk which Prem Devi loved to work with while weaving. Prem Devi, the first in her family to weave, learned the art at home and now finds joy in creating intricate stories with her children, who help her ideate. Her rug captures the hues of a setting sun, her favorite time of day. She recreates the moments when the sky turns a radiant reddish-pink, casting its warm glow over her village. She let merged the sky and the river into a fiery blush as the sun dips. The Doongar (hill) near her home inspires the landscape, where she gathers wood and grass daily. The rug reflects the life she observes there: the gentle curves of the hills, the crimson river glowing in the dusk, a dancing peacock, and the warmth of fire from her "choolha" (traditional clay stove). Prem Devi’s mantra, “Mere rangon ko pata hai, ki unhe kahaan jaana hai” (My colors already know where they need to go in the design), brings her design alive. Her Manchaha rug, “Lalima" which means a red glow is a celebration of fleeting sunsets, nature’s rhythm, and her bond with the land she calls home.

• If spills occur, blot immediately. Do not rub the stain.
• Rotate occasionally to equalize wear.
• Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling.
• If thread comes out do not pull the yarn, trim with scissor.
