“While the vast blue sky gives us peace, the sight of the colorful flying kites gives us the ability to dream.” This is what the weavers of this carpet shared with us while narrating their design story. Guddi, Suman, and Soniya reminisced about their childhood memories of kites soaring through the sky. Woven during the Makar Sankranti festival, known as the festival of kites, the weavers recounted stories of buying vibrant kites the day before the festival, their mothers preparing delicious sweets, and flying kites with their fathers. These fond memories inspired the creation of the "Udati Patang" rug, meaning "Flying Kite." In addition to numerous flying kites, the rug features delicate flower motifs, a set of necklace and earrings as an ode to their love for dressing up, and diamond-shaped Shakkarpara sweets. A lantern, lit around sunset, is intricately woven in the center, surrounded by vibrant sunset hues. Seeing the vibrant outcome of the rug, the weavers shared their happiness in translating their love for the kites flying festival onto the rug.

• Rotate occasionally to equalize wear.
• Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling.
• If thread comes out do not pull the yarn, trim with scissor.
