Raat Ka TaraMaya Devi, the artist behind this manchaha is a weaver who lives in the beautiful village of Aaspura. During Diwali, she felt a mixture of happiness and sadness as her children were not with her to celebrate the festival. However, she did not let this deter her and instead, she wove a carpet that incorporated the essence of the festival and the warmth of familial togetherness. Maya loves her village and the surrounding mountains, and she celebrated Diwali by making candles, diyas, and other symbolic decorations that represent the radiance and hope that the festival brings over her hand-knotted rug. Her weavings reflected the vision of families uniting, relishing homemade sweets, and enjoying heartfelt conversations under the glow of diyas. Maya's intricate hand-knotting on the rug also depicted her home, adorned with traditional Diwali elements, evoking memories of past celebrations with her loved ones. Despite missing her children, she created traditional sweets and wish lanterns, longing for their presence during this special time. She beautifully named her rug, "Raat Ka Taara" (The Night Star) symbolizing the brighness of festival that Diwali brings.
