On match days, he sat glued to the television at a neighbor’ s house, eyes wide with admiration, dreaming of one day playing for India. But dreams had a way of slipping through the fingers of those burdened with duty. As he grew older, the bat was replaced with tools of survival. His hands, once meant to swing a cricket bat, wove for a living. His passion for cricket faded into the background—until he sat at his Manchaha loom. With a newfound fire in his heart, Haidar poured his soul into his rug. He wove the symbols of his lost dream— the bat, ball, cricket helmet and at the heart of it all, a shining trophy. In the background, he crafted a jeweled design resembling a cricket pitch, a tribute to the legends who walked upon it. To Haidar, the footprints of his cricketing idols were as precious as jewels. With a heart full of love and fulfillment, he named his rug "Sapno Ka Maidan " (Ground of Dreams)—a tribute to the dreams that never faded, only waiting for the right moment to take flight.
