Bin Chakke ki Gaadi
‘Bin Chakke ki Gaadi’ which means a car without wheels is how the weavers describe their Manchaha. Aarti and Mintu bought many toys for the newly born baby but there is a special toy which he is really attached to. A small girl from their neighbourhood, who used to come and play with him, used leftovers from cardboard and wooden sticks to make this toy for the baby. Towards the centre of the rug, you will find this car without wheels. The baby is so connected to it that he even stops crying once he gets hold of it. The beauty of this attachment is weaved into the Manchaha. When Arti and Mintu got an order of weaving a circular rug they thought that the shape of the rug would already act as a wheel to their ‘bin chakke ki gaadi’. Moreover, other toys that the baby has like blocks, balls, bells, cubes and trapezium occupy the periphery of the rug.

Mintu

• DO NOT brush or scrub the rug.
• Only vacuum clean it periodically. Avoid using vacuum beater brush mode
• If spills occur, blot immediately. Do not rub the stain.
• Rotate occasionally to equalize wear.
• Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling.
• If thread comes out do not pull the yarn, trim with scissor.
