On a dark night behind bars, Prakash thought of his life out of the jail and missed every part of it. But beyond everything else, he missed his wife. He remembered all the love and sacrifices she made for him, making him long to be with her again. This yearning turned into an inspiration for Prakash. He decided to dedicate a Manchaha rug to his wife as a token of his love. He shared this idea with his weaver friends, Ramotar, Rampandey, and Dharmendra, and everyone excitedly agreed to participate. They decided to fill this rug with diamonds, pearls, and jewels that Prakash wanted to offer to his wife. He expressed that even a whole trunk of sparkling gems wouldnt be enough for his wife. They also weaved a green jewel box on the right side of the carpet. Along with a plethora of diamond motifs and pearls, the weavers have included many flower motifs to make the carpet bloom. Prakash weaved leheriya sarees that he would gift his wife. With the kite motifs in the end, the artisans send this dream to their partners in the hope of getting released from jail soon. They said that even though they cannot go to their partners, these kites will carry their love to them. With this rug, the weavers shared how they want to leave the mistakes of the past behind now and embrace a future that will be “Chamkila,” (Bright).
