Sawan Aur Khushiyan
Monsoon is Rekha Devi's favourite time of the year. With the arrival of Sawan, the village fills with colour, and women bring out their bright leheriya sarees for festivals and family gatherings. Her home opens onto a wide field, and she says the farm also wears a dark, vibrant green colour during this season. Wanting to capture that joy, she dedicated this Manchaha to the season she loves the most. She filled the rug with flowing wavy patterns inspired by the movement of leheriya, allowing them to ripple across the surface like rain and wind. Alongside these, she introduced diamond motifs borrowed from her husband's favourite shirt. Smiling, she shared that she liked its pattern so much that she decided to weave it into the carpet. Blending memories from her wardrobe and her home, Rekha Devi transformed everyday inspirations into a contemporary composition. At the end, she named this Manchaha “Sawan Aur Khushiyan” (Monsoon and Happiness).
