Saanp-Seedhi
“Saanp-Seedhi” or “Snakes and Ladders” is a game almost everyone has played at least once. This simple yet exciting game mirrors real life, though real-life situations are far more complex. This profound message is shared by a weaver couple, a husband-wife duo, who guide you through the real-life game of snakes and ladders through their Manchaha rug. Initially, the couple explored their loom by weaving hazy patterns resembling flames. After a few days, Mamta started weaving a ladder through a checkered pattern. Seeing this, Mukesh mimicked the same, and they both began to see the ladders as a metaphor for the game. They share how far they have come together as a couple, stepping together on the ladder of life filled with numerous experiences and challenges. Their ladders intertwine, symbolizing their shared journey and life events. Some prominent elements include a guitar on the left, representing their love for music. There are depictions of mountains, symbolizing their passion for climbing together to watch the beautiful views of their villages. The uneven patterns reflect the many ups and downs of their lives. However, as the design ascends to the top, it becomes more serene. Beautiful banyan trees, their favorite, symbolize the eternity of their love, and the infinite, intrinsic squares woven into the design represent their boundless affection for one another.
