This hand-knotted Hamadan rug from Iran, circa 1920, draws the eye with its refined execution of the traditional Mina Khani design. Across a medieval blue field unfolds a continuous lattice of floral rosettes, each delicately linked by a network of diamond-shaped vines. The all-over pattern, both structured and organic, lends the composition a quiet rhythm and visual depth. The main border, rendered in a soft silver lake blue, forms a cool and elegant frame. It is filled with stylized floral motifs and angular shapes that echo the geometry of the field. A narrow inner guard border, with a minimalist geometric repeat, is complemented by a darker outer edge that gently grounds the piece.
