Gaon ki Kala
Upasna and Ramu's Manchaha, "Gaon ki Kala," (Folk Art) truly captures the essence of their village's Warli Art, which can be seen painted on the walls of the mud houses. On the right-hand side of their Manchaha, Upasana has hand-crafted a small portion of Warli Art using brown silk yarn. To balance his wife's external inspiration, Ramu has woven mud pots of his home at the top center of their Manchaha. They have also included a large veranda in the center of the rug, decorated with intricate patterns, signifying their desire to have an open space in front of their home creating a beautifully hand-knotted silk rug. Upasna has also woven small arrows with brown silk yarns, as she loves their design on her rugs. Their Manchaha truly witnesses the art forms that are often overlooked and found throughout their village.
