Poornima
Poornima—meaning full moon—symbolizes completeness, and it’s the perfect name for this Manchaha rug, which found its wholeness through a collective journey of growth and support. The rug was originally started by Hanuman and Nirmal, two amateur weavers brimming with enthusiasm but lacking experience. As the days passed, anxiety crept in. They began taking frequent leaves from the loom, unsure of how to proceed. When the quality supervisor noticed the erratic attendance, he approached them. The duo, overwhelmed and uncertain, confessed: “We’ve run out of ideas… the colors are finished… the speed is too slow.” Sensing the need for a guiding presence, the supervisor turned to VP Singh—an accomplished artisan who has created over 15 Manchaha rugs. With his calm demeanor and quiet confidence, VP joined the loom. From that moment, the team felt complete. VP didn’t take over. Instead, he uplifted. He respected the original design, gently enhancing it with intricate detailing along the bold zig-zag pattern. His presence gave Hanuman and Nirmal the push they needed. Their speed improved, their confidence soared, and the joy of weaving returned. Together, they finished what once seemed impossible. The rug, now whole and radiant like a full moon, was aptly named Poornima—a testament to the beauty of teamwork, mentorship, and shared triumph.
