Chamcham
The most special thing about Manchahas is the burst of vibrant colors the weavers receive. These lively shades are the heart and soul of every Manchaha rug. The most exciting part of the weaving process is when our artists eagerly await the bundles of colors and meticulously plan how to use each thread to create their unique designs. However, in this case, our weavers were initially disappointed with the colors they received. They were given many shades of reds and ivory yarns but desired more multicolored yarns. Determined to bring their vision to life, Rajveer, Amichand, Mukesh Mishra initiated a barter system in the jail workshops! They traded their excess reds and whites with other looms to gather colorful yarns. With a richer palette in hand, the three weavers began their new creation. They each set to work on the loom, creating three different lanes adorned with intricate designs that came to their mind. Their goal was to play with bright colors and weave a unique carpet where the design and color changed in harmony. They joyfully named their creation “Chamcham,” (Glitter) celebrating their love for bright colors. Through their playful spirit and creativity, they showed us how to brighten our lives by taking chances and asking for what we need.

• Only vacuum clean it periodically. Avoid using vacuum beater brush mode
• If spills occur, blot immediately. Do not rub the stain.
• Rotate occasionally to equalize wear.
• Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling.
• If thread comes out do not pull the yarn, trim with scissor.
