Samay ke Sath
This rug tells a story about how things change slowly and gently over time. At the bottom, the designs are soft and light. The shapes are inspired by clouds floating, train tracks on dusty ground, or worn-out cloth. You can see lines that look like fishing nets or loose stitches, inspired by everyday things the weavers see. This part feels simple, like the start of life. As you look up, the rug becomes more vibrant. Patterns grow, and shapes stack on top of each other. You notice more diamonds and different textures. Some lines are neat, others broken — just like the paths we all take. The weavers — Nanu Ram, Bihari Lal, and Ravi — saved colorful yarns for the top, where the rug feels most alive. Here, the colors burst with reds, blues, and oranges overlapping and dancing. This part of the rug feels like the present — full of energy and change. The rug doesn’t stick to one pattern. It grows, shifts, and surprises, just like our lives. When they started weaving years ago, their designs were simple. Over time, they learned new techniques, made mistakes, took breaks, and came back stronger. Life changed too — families grew, challenges came, some dreams faded while new ones appeared. Through it all, they kept going. This rug is about learning to move with time. To adapt, grow, let go of the past, and make room for what’s next. “Samay ke Sath” (Along with Time) reminds us that happiness comes from flowing, changing, and weaving your life with time.
