Leherati Chunari This Manchaha narrates a playful and unique story about Lacha's visit to her brother's house on the Rakshabandhan festival. She went to tie Rakhi to her brother and celebrate with them. Her brother wanted to gift her a Lehriya saree, but her sister-in-law insisted on buying a Bandhej or Chunari pattern saree. The husband and wife had a playful argument in the shop itself but after some time they found a saree that had designs of both leheriya and bandhej. They picked it in one go. When Laccha heard this hilarious story, she bursted into laughter. She wore the saree on the festival, telling the story to all her relatives. After returning to her loom, she decided to capture the sweet memory in her Manchaha by weaving the leheriya patterns surrounding a prominent Chunari design using her delicate wool and silk yarns and named her hand-crafted creation, “Leherati Chunari”, a beautiful hand-knotted rug.
