Manju Devi was quite apprehensive about weaving her first Manchaha. When she received the bundles of yarn, she felt so nervous that she didn't even open them for about ten days. When the branch manager visited her and saw how nervous she was, he gave her the best advice, “You are free to make mistakes, it is your own Manchaha. Just weave whatever you see around yourself.” And that is exactly what Manju did. The rug “Aas -Paas” or ‘Around’ draws inspiration from the intricate motifs and patterns that surround Manju in her village. She passionately explains that the designs she wove were influenced by the rustic patterns she observed on the chulha (traditional clay stove) and the artistically painted walls of her home. She also wove cow dung pattern that she uses to cover floors to keep her home cool. This rug truly showcases that art is around us if only we can open our eyes and notice the beauty.

• DO NOT brush or scrub the rug.
• Only vacuum clean it periodically. Avoid using vacuum beater brush mode
• If spills occur, blot immediately. Do not rub the stain.
• Rotate occasionally to equalize wear.
• Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling.
• If thread comes out do not pull the yarn, trim with scissor.
