A jail inmate and a skilled artisan, Naresh was habituated to working in big groups with his fellow weaver friends. However, when he got his first Manchaha solo, that too, a uniquely shaped rug, he showed the utmost confidence. In this hand-knotted rug, Naresh has skillfully articulated his abstract design sense and weaved “Chamkila Patthar,” meaning “Shining Pebble.” He has added abstract patterns of diamonds, arrows, triangles, and stripes to this rug. Aside from that, Naresh has also woven four cups at the bottom of the rug in checkered patterns that he and his jailmates used in jail. He said that if the imagination has the power to make something as mundane as a pebble shine, then he can also make his life at prison shine by making more manchahas.

• DO NOT brush or scrub the rug.
• Only vacuum clean it periodically. Avoid using vacuum beater brush mode
• If spills occur, blot immediately. Do not rub the stain.
• Rotate occasionally to equalize wear.
• Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling.
• If thread comes out do not pull the yarn, trim with scissor.
