Sawan ki Goonj
In this Manchaha rug, Dhafali Devi has woven the mystique of Monsoon. In the beginning, she started by weaving the farms that look lush green in the monsoon. On the left, she added mushrooms, which she calls “plants that arrive carrying their own umbrellas.” Above this design, she has woven a flowing river in blue yarns. Drawing from the patterns on her bedsheets, she layered the rug with simple, familiar forms. At the top, she created two peacocks drinking water from a mud pot. This representation of her village and monsoon made her name the rug “Sawan ki Goonj,” meaning “The Echo of Monsoon.”

• DO NOT brush or scrub the rug.
• Only vacuum clean it periodically. Avoid using vacuum beater brush mode
• If spills occur, blot immediately. Do not rub the stain.
• Rotate occasionally to equalize wear.
• Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling.
• If thread comes out do not pull the yarn, trim with scissor.
• Periodic professional cleaning recommended
