Zigzag lines follow the mud paths that connect their house to neighbours and workspaces, never straight, shaped by feet and rain. Small dots are grains spread in the courtyard to dry under the sun, scattered naturally by hand. Fine lines echo the marks of tools—ploughs, sickles, and the loom itself—worn smooth through years of work. Small symbolic forms appear quietly, almost like personal marks, not explained but firmly placed, known only to those who wove them. This Manchaha does not tell one story. It holds three stories, interconnected, sometimes contrasting, but inseparable. Like Saroj, Kavita, and Mishri Devi themselves, the rug stands steady because of its differences, woven together into a single, balanced whole.
