When Sunita Devi received the yarns for this Manchaha, she found herself at a loss for ideas. For a while, she wove intricate patterns, knot by knot, without a clear vision of what the final design would be. Then, one night, as she watched the rain fall under the streetlight, she saw the droplets sparkling and an idea struck her. Inspired by the shimmering rain, she envisioned tiny stars falling from the sky. Sunita decided to incorporate delicate diamond and triangle motifs into her rug to represent these little stars. She imagined that the stars were mingling with the rain, which made the sky appear dark. This incredibly imaginative vision led her to name her Manchaha “Sitaron ki Baarish,” which means “Rainfall of Stars.”
