Tyohaar This is Krishan’s very first Manchaha Carpet woven in Alwar Jail. In the beginning, Krishan used to look at different looms around him. Surrounded by the rhythmic clatter of looms, Krishan felt to bring his unique vision to life and stopped looking at others and searched for inspiration inside. The carpet began to take shape just before the Diwali festival, and it stirred up memories of his childhood. Krishan confessed his fear of firecrackers and shared that he had never lit a firecracker himself in his life. Instead, he found immense joy in simply gazing at the lit-up sky. One particular firework, the "Chakhri Rocket" (Ground Spinner), held a special place in his heart and he even weaved it on the carpet, capturing its radiance on the hand-knotted rug. He also remembered how his sisters used to make beautiful Rangoli during the festival and included it too. As the carpet neared completion, two fellow weavers, Jaggi and Kamal, joined in to embrace the festive theme with their creative touches. They hand-crafted mango leaves, symbolizing an essential aspect of Diwali rituals, and the delectable “barfi” sweets into their creation. Together, they reveled in the spirit of Diwali through their Manchaha carpet, affectionately naming it "Tyohaar," which translates to "Festival."
